Introduction
Women's Christian College (WCC), Chennai, stands among India's most distinguished institutions for women's higher education. The Need for Women's Higher Education

Founding of Women's Christian College
Women's Christian College officially opened in July 1915 with a small group of students and a faculty drawn from various Christian denominations. It was one of the earliest ecumenical colleges for women in Asia.
